MAPPA Co., Ltd. (Japanese: 株式会社MAPPA, Hepburn: Kabushiki-gaisha Mappa) is a Japanese animation studio. It was founded on June 14, 2011, by Masao Maruyama, a founder and former producer of Madhouse,[1] and has produced anime works including Kids on the Slope, Terror in Resonance, Yuri!!! on Ice, In This Corner of the World, Kakegurui, Banana Fish, Jujutsu Kaisen and the final season of Attack on Titan .
The studio will have its hands full this year with animating the final season of Attack on Titan. Not only that, MAPPA has also taken the reins on producing the studio’s first webtoon The God of High School by Yongje Park, a battle shonen about a high schooler who participates in a tournament to determine who is the strongest high schooler only to later realize there’s something darker and more sinister lurking beneath. The webtoon adaptation's first episode premiered July 6.
